Press Play: King Britt

  "New World in My View"

Yes, I watch True Blood. Love it. The third season just started and I can't wait to see what new plots get written in, supernatural creatures get introduced, and songs they play. Last season there was a great closing scene where Bill (main vampire dude) is walking up to the Queen vampire's house. It's shot in slow motion, the King Britt "New World in My View" song starts playing (press play if you haven't already), and creates such an epic movie moment as I like to call it, even though it's a TV show. It gave me goosebumps and haven't been able to stop playing it since. It should be no surprise that the show is successful as it's created by Alan Ball, same creator of Six Feet Under. It's good, and recommend you try and catch up if you've never seen the show. The intro to the show itself was shot so well and is what got me and my husband interested to keep tuning in. Watch!

Saturday Night Movie

Most everyone that knows me, knows that my time has been consumed by reading and talking about vampires. Thanks to the ever so addicting Twilight saga, and The Historian, I've been on a quest to read, and watch anything related to vampires. Oh yes, and I can't forget the HBO series, True Blood

Just in case you wanted to know, and just because I feel like bragging, I've already bought my ticket for the midnight showing of Twilight on Nov.20.

But that's not what this post is about. Well sort of. Tonight I'll be watching a Swedish film, "Let the Right One in" (watch trailer below). A very quick synopsis from Wikipedia: "Oskar is a 12-year-old-boy who is being bullied at school. He befriends a mysterious girl, Eli, who moves in next door with her father Håkan. In the course of the film you find out all is not what it seems. Eli is really a vampire and her "father" supplies her with fresh blood by murdering young boys. As Oskar gradually begins to understand who Eli really is, the bond between them grows stronger. Eli teaches him to stand up to his bullies and Oskar grows increasingly fond of her."

Like I said, that was a very quick synopsis. I will most definitely offer a more in depth look into the film tomorrow, after I've seen the film. It's dark, gloomy, and wet here in San Francisco. The perfect weather for a movie like this! Check out the trailer below to see what I'm talking about! (Just click the image to start the trailer)
