Lo-Fi Dreamy Tunes

A few weeks ago the uber adorable Ashley of Hi-Fi Weddings contacted me about doing a Guest Mix on her site. Score! Andres and I had become huge fans of the site since the planning of our wedding (there's nothing else like it!), hoping to one day get our wedding playlist on there (which will as soon as I compile our old school oldies wedding playlist! yay!), so to be asked to be a part of it made my day! The idea of possibly inspiring other couples looking to add some tunes to their wedding playlist, or just to stop by for some good listening is what got me and Andres that much more into compiling one awesome playlist.

Because we've been obsessing over Toro y Moi and Washed Out for the past months it was easy for me to use them as my inspiration. Their music embodies what a lo-fi dreamy Summer would look like to me. If I could go back and add a soundtrack to each childhood video of myself it would easily be compiled of those two artists. Plus, it's kind of almost Summer, so I thought it would be perfect to go with this flow. Of course there had to be cover art. What kind of mix would it be if I didn't provide an awesome cover? So thank you Andres, my insanely talented husband, for designing the perfect cover & back art for the Lo-Fi Dreamy Summer Mix

Head over to my Guest Mix post on Hi-Fi Weddings to listen, and take some time to snoop around because it really is a great site! I wanna hear!

I was going through photos of neat-o things I've collected off the interweb that I've kept to remind myself to buy someday or just loved looking at. They're just sitting there being cool by themselves, so I thought I'd share in case you wanted to buy them someday too! Unfortunately, the Richard Perez print has been and continues to be sold out! But these are all goodies I'd love to have if I could.

And, because I'm obsessed with this song by Toro y Moi and because Andres found this organic recording of it (filmed here in SF!) I have to have to share it with you! It's brilliant. Amazing. And reminds me of our honeymoon. Goosebumpers!

P.S. Today was my first guest post on the Sitting in a Tree blog. I'll be guest posting over there every week, so I hope you'll tune in!

Honey Moon

It's been about 5 days since my husband and I returned from our chilly honeymoon in Banff and I'm still dreaming about the sites we saw, the falls we took learning to snowboard, and the friendliest people we met. It was our first time traveling together and it couldn't have been more fun. We took our Zumi digital camera that we were waiting to use for this exact moment and took so much video. It's the easiest camera to use and the footage comes out exactly how I see things when I'm dreaming. That's how come I love it so! Get your own at the Photojojo Store.

My husband and I are a bit obsessed with music and creating the soundtrack of our lives, so we didn't want to waste any of this footage without adding a song that played on repeat for much of the duration of our honeymoon. He's currently working in Final Cut Pro and making a full length video with all the footage we took and a much longer soundtrack. But in the meantime, I couldn't wait, so I made this video with one of my new favorite tunes that takes me back to these lovely memories. Enjoy!
