Recipe:

[design:soundslikeyouandme]

Our recent wedding feature in Style Me Pretty gave us some really great feedback and compliments. I'm still checking it numerous times today with a big smile! I'm posting this specifically because someone left a comment asking what the recipe for our cocktail was (great question!). Our best man, and expert cocktail guru was the one that recommended this cocktail for our wedding and we couldn't have been more happy with his selection. It was a hit, and so perfect for a sunny Spring wedding in San Diego!

So here ya go:

*The wedding punch used Whole Foods 365 Organic lemonade (premade) to
save time among all the other DIY projects.

Serves 8

2 ounces fresh ginger, peeled, cut into thin disks (⅓ cup)
¼ cup honey, or more to taste
⅛ teaspoon kosher salt
¾ cup fresh lemon juice (from about 4 large lemons)

1. Bring 2 cups cold water to a boil. In medium heatproof bowl, pour
hot water over ginger and stir. Slowly pour in the honey, stirring
until it's dissolved in the concentrate. Add the salt, cover, and let
steep for 10 minutes. I recommend steeping a lot longer, especially if
yielding a bigger batch of punch (which we did).

2. Strain the concentrate into a large pitcher (it will keep for 5
days, covered, in the refrigerator), reserving the ginger slices. Add
3 cups cold water and the lemon juice to the pitcher, and sweeten to
taste with honey. Set the pitcher in the refrigerator to cool further;
store the ginger slices in the refrigerator as well. (The lemonade and
ginger slices will keep in the refrigerator for 5 days.)

3. When ready to serve, add your favorite bourbon whiskey to the
pitcher. Pour whiskey to taste; but a 1:3 whiskey to ginger lemonade
is a good way to get the par-tay started. Add the largest chuck of ice
you can fit into the pitcher. I usually freeze water in a round
plastic take-out container from my favorite Indian-Pakistani
restaurant, and use that large ice to ensure theres no diluting my
spiked-punch.

4. Fill glasses with ice and pour the Bourbon spiked Ginger Lemonade
aka "Best Man Punch" and garnish with a slice of the steeped ginger,
and a wheel slice of lemon.

Thanks Adrian (our best man!) for sharing this yummers recipe!
