Birthday Wish: Best Cupcake in SF?

I'm tooting my own horn because it's my birthday today! So toot hoot hoot toot! When my husband asked me what I wanted for my birthday the image of a cupcake came to mind. I have not had the best cupcake in San Francisco yet! So, I pretty much haven't lived, right? So my mission today is to sink my sweet teeth into the best darn cupcake San Francisco has to offer. I know there's got to be a few runners up there, but I could SO use your help! I'm starting my hunt by scouring the vast reviews on Yelp, but if you've had or have heard of someplace that's a must try, please let me know! ¡Gracias!

couple options - that takes the cake on union and steiner- get the red velvet or the prom queen. or check out mission minis on mission on 22nd between mission and capp. orrrrrr when we get back i'll make you a batch of cupcakes :)

p.s. macaroons are the new cupcakes - so make a trip to hayes valley and go to paulette

I recommend our Old-Fashioned cupcake: dark chocolate cake, fluffy marshmallow-y Italian meringue, and a cheerful red candy coated peanut. Come see us!

P.S. Be forewarned, however, our cupcakes are adorable but they are not glittertastic like those in the photo. Those are amazing!

Annie: yummmmmers! i think i'll try all those places. i told andres i wanted to go on a little "sweet adventure" tomorrow and eat all the best sweets in the city. those will be some stops!
